With the advent of smart-phone technology and social media we live in an era of transparency and accountability, the likes of never seen before. In today’s world, citizens demand the right to be involved in the decision-making process of matters that affect them. With technology and social media in-hand this has lead to a proliferation of misinformation and fake news, creating outrage, sometimes artificially, in otherwise un-engaged communities. This webinar provides public organisations with the tools to identify, manage and leverage community outrage, reducing the risk in communication exchanges and ensuring that correct information is available.
Who should attend?
Community engagement practitioners, managers of community engagement practitioners, communications professionals, decision makers, and anybody with an interest in community engagement.

Do you fear using social media in your organisation? Instead of thinking about all of the things that could go wrong, many of which can be easily mitigated, why not consider the opportunities that ONLY social media offers your organisation (reach and cost are just two examples). In this webinar we show you how to prevent the social media train wrecks that we have all heard about. This webinar will help and support you turning social media from something feared into a great opportunity to positively cement your place and reputation in your community.
The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a program aimed to provide participants with a greater level of comprehension and understanding of local government; increased confidence; enhanced self-awareness; an appreciation of and an ability to work with different personality types; the opportunity to challenge their assumptions.
